About

Hi! I’m Brendan

I became interested in finance and opened my first brokerage account when I was 15 years old (custodial account, of course – I was too young to open my own). This is where I discovered, hands-on, investing and finance. And what drew me in was how complex the markets could really be. And more specifically, how it connects to all facets of life: business, technology, psychology, government, politics and so much more.

I then went on to study finance in university to broaden and deepen my expertise in the field. With a decade of professional experience working in finance, including at companies such as Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, London Stock Exchange and Bloomberg, and a current focus at the intersection of finance and technology, I’ve navigated through the complexities of these industries with a passion for learning and growth. Outside of my professional endeavors, you’ll often find me immersed in non-fiction and self-help literature, engaging in thought-provoking conversations, and embracing the mindset of lifelong learning and minimalism. I reside in New York City where I continue to work to uncover the complexities of finance, economics, and life.

Through this platform, I aim to challenge conventional wisdom by sharing my perspectives openly and inviting others to stress-test them. Drawing inspiration from the wisdom from the likes of Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Aswath Damodaran and Scott Galloway, I strive to offer balanced viewpoints that consider multiple angles. And what I love the most about these folks is that I cannot tell what their political leanings are (with the exception of Buffett). From financial insights to life advice, I believe in authenticity and truth-seeking, recognizing that no one has all the answers, but together, we can strive to understand a little more each day. Join me on this journey as we explore diverse topics and seek genuine understanding in an ever-changing world.
